Andrew Rushton at EMTTC Session 1

After weeks of preparation we kicked off session 1 of Andrew Rushton’s coaching with a bang!

It was great to see so many new faces as well as old ones benefitting from the wisdom of such a great player like Andrew.

For the 6 weeks he is here, he has developed key areas to work on over the course and week 1 was all about movement. He told us all we would be sweating and he didn’t disappoint.

His ability to communicate to such a large group was phenomenal and his experience shone through as he led everyone on an amazing two hour session. We saw beginners master the basics with ease and confidence under his guidance. Even our more advance players progressed throughout the night and by the end of the session everyone felt a great impact into their game.

Not only did all of our players benefit greatly but we as coaches, learnt so much from Andrew. His approach is friendly, concise and masterful and if you haven’t signed up for his other sessions I would highly recommend you do so. If you have an interest in joining any of his sessions please use the contact us page to book your place.

Thanks for reading and we look forward to the 5 weeks we have left with Andrew.

So here we are! Only 3 games left until the end of the season and we are sitting comfortably second in the league with a game in hand.

Our next game is against the team currently sitting top, shall we say “Our Rivals” Affinity 2nd.

This game is detrimental to us securing our place at the top of the table. It will take place at Belle Vue leisure centre on the 26th of February at 7pm. Please feel free to come along and support us.

We have played some tough games and all of our players have given it everything to be in this position and fingers crossed we can bring the title home on our debut season in the Manchester league.

We are also playing in the semi-final of the Handicap cup on Monday the 22nd against Christie’s 1st and still have the final of the Leslie Cohen cup to play after the end of the season.

I would like to wish all of our players the best of luck and fingers crossed EMTTC will be shopping for a trophy cabinet fairly soon.

Well done and lets keep up the good work.

End of year review!

So here we are, its now 2016 and we are approaching almost 1 year of club operation.

Firstly we would like to thank all of our coaches, volunteers and members for all of their continued support and help every week. You guys are what makes our club great and we cannot thank you enough!

We have finally moved from the dance studio into the main sports hall and now operate 4 tables over a badminton court. We are pleased to see a strong turnout every week and it is fantastic to see old faces returning as well as new ones turning up. Fingers crossed we will be expanding soon and adding two more tables to the mix to accommodate more players.

Iain and Steven have also passed their UKCC level 1 and are now looking to expand their knowledge by completing their level 2 as soon as it becomes available. This means that all of the players at our club will receive a higher quality of coaching and hopefully progress on to teams to compete in local and national leagues. With our continued growth we are always looking for Volunteers/Coaches to get involved and help with the smooth running of the club so if that appeals to you please make contact to and we will be in touch.

Our team in the Manchester league is also pleased to announce that we are currently on track to win the league and gain promotion in to division one for next season. We are also in the final of the Leslie Cohen trophy which will be played towards the end of the season so please keep your fingers crossed for our victory. EMTTC would like to thank all of their players for their hard work and dedication and wish them the best of luck in the remainder of the season. If playing in a league is something that interests you please send us an email or see Iain and Steven to register your interest. The new season starts in September and entries need to be in to the league secretary by the end of June.

Finally we would like to thank all of the staff at Belle Vue Leisure Centre for all of their hard work and support in helping the club to expand and run efficiently. We are eternally grateful for all of your support and look forward to watching our partnership flourish.

Best wishes,
